The DLT Analyzer is a software tool designed to collect and analyze log and
trace information from a vehicle ECU. The tool works in the Eclipse environment
in order to facilitate the integration with other ECU software development
suite. It is available both as an Eclipse plug-in or as a stand-alone application.
The tool is useful in the following phases of the ECU software life cycle:
Development: the DLT Analyzer helps the designer to tune and control the
implemented SW vehicle functionalities, managing in an effective way the
logging and tracing of variables and parameters. It permits the developer to
prepare the log information to be used in the after production phase.
After production: the DLT Analyzer permits the developer to elaborate
the log information, that are useful to identify and solve software problems
generated during the vehicle running.
The DLT Analyzer presupposes that the ECU basic software includes the
Diagnostic Log and Trace module standardized by the Autosar Consortium and
available from the official release 4.0, or the DLT Daemon from the GENIVI
Communication: communication with ECU can be performed using different
physical interfaces. Supported interfaces are TCP/IP and RS 232; CAN
interface is under development and will be soon available.
Configuration: the DLT Analyzer permits the operator to modify at runtime
the logging capabilities of the applications registered with the embedded
DLT module It also permits to configure the whole DLT target module
Filtering: the operator can apply filters criteria in order to manage only
the subset of log and trace data of interest. All filters are applied using
enhanced indexing techniques, in order to reduce seek time on huge data
Acquisition: the tool is able to acquire log and trace data produced by
the applications running on the ECU and to save them into file on the host
machine. The DLT Analyzer supports verbose mode and non-verbose mode in a
transparent way to the user. Non-verbose mode files can be managed using the
Intecs FIBEX Editor plug-in.
Data Analysis: the operator can access a database of ‘dlt’ file saved
during previous acquisition sessions and process them. The Analyzer is able
to process up to 10GB of data in less then an hour. The analysis
capabilities will be increasable thanks to an extensible architecture.
Graphical analysis tools are provided inside the plug-in itself.
User Interface: the DLT Analyzer usability get advantage of the Eclipse
